The International Sri Deep Madhavananda Ashram Fellowship is a non-profit and non-denominational organization seated in Vienna/Austria, at Schikanedergasse 12/13 (A-1040 Vienna). It was founded in 1990 by Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda from Rajasthan/India whose intention was to unite, under one organization, the many different associations of "Yoga in daily life" which are scattered all over the world.
The Fellowship is of benefit to the public and not oriented towards profits. In accordance with its statutes it pursues the following aims:
- fostering physical, mental, social and spiritual health through the system "Yoga in Daily Life"
- striving for world peace and human rights through tolerance, respect and understanding regardless to national, religious and cultural differences
- offering humanitarian aid and support for indigent people, particularly in emergency areas
- fostering cultural and social ativities and international relationships in areas of art, culture, education, dance, language, religion
- protection of environment and animal rights
- running schools and undertaking educational projects
In 1999 the International Sri Deep Madhavananda
Ashram Fellowship initiated a global fundraising program for the
victims of the devastating cyclone in Orissa/India as well as several
humanitarian projects for local areas in Rajasthan/India (a support
program for school children, health care, water supply and fire-fighting
service).
